To help us maintain a consistent, high-quality nutrition program, Klarvatten Daycare & OSC has introduced a $100.00 monthly Food Cost Recovery Fee for families who choose to opt in. This fee supports the cost of providing morning snack and lunch each day, prepared on-site in alignment with Alberta’s nutrition and licensing guidelines. Afternoon snacks are still provided by families, as this allows for greater flexibility to accommodate each child’s individual tastes and dietary needs.
As government childcare funding does not include food expenses, this fee ensures we can continue offering meals that meet both provincial nutrition guidelines and our commitment to quality care.
What the Fee Covers:
All required food groups for morning snack and lunch
On-site food preparation
Staffing and supervision during mealtimes
Supplies, cleaning, and operational costs related to meal service
